Verizon

I did not want to like Verizon, but I do now. When we had US Cellular and I told them I'd be in Canada they were going to charge me around $6.00 a minute and then instead they turned my phone off. I had no phone service the remainder of my 60 days in Canada and Alaska. We had to get to a company store in the lower 48 to restore service.
We changed to Verizon at that time. This trip to Canada Verizon charged us an extra $2.00, that's correct, two dollars a day to use talk, text or email on our plan just like we were in the USA! Great deal! So three days in Canada and only $6.00  to communicate!!

Time to move on

Today we leave Campark RV Resort in Niagara Canada for Syracuse,NY. We were told to exit the convenient back gate but when we got there it was locked, a good stroke of fate, cause it was raining. I called the office and they sent a guy to unlock, open, and close the gate for us!! I didn't have to get wet, he drives so I would have had to man the gate, Duf offered to do the gate if I'd drive but that opening looked very narrow to me!

Our border crossing was quick and easy thank goodness. That is always a nervous experience!
We drove to Syracuse without any problems. Once here we were parked right by our friends and after a tour of our new coach they had happy hour ready!
We had dinner at Dinausour BBQ. It was an interesting place! They opened one in Chicago but it will close next week which is to bad cause it was good!

Day 4

Today we rode the bus all around town for a tour. We stopped at the whirlpool and realized the power these whirlpools really have. We stopped in the old downtown area and walked around a bit but it was like a ghost town so we took the next bus out and stopped at the White Water Walk. This included another elevator ride and this was an old elevator!
This is an amazingly educational walk!

Day 3

The bus stops right at the resort and all around downtown. We rode to Table Rock where everything happens. Our first attraction was Fury. This included a video explaining how the falls were formed and a rain poncho that saved us from being drenched. The movie is all around the room and the floor moves and as water bubbles and spews in the video it also shoots out of the ceiling and walls for an educational and soaking experience!

Our next adventure was a walk behind the falls. This included one of my worst fears: a crowded and very hot elevator ride down below the falls. To top that off we walked in a low, wet tunnel to portals behind the falls. They issued us another poncho because standing in the portals is like standing in a hurricane! Very interesting experience ! The tunnel ended outside next to the falls. It is hard to imagine the power of raging water.

We checked the wait for the Horn Blower mid afternoon and it was five hours. Just before leaving for the bus, around 5, we checked and the line was so short we were on the boat in 30 minutes! This is an amazing experience . We saw a double rainbow and needed our third poncho to keep dry. The closer we got to the falls the more it was like a bad storm with water blowing all around us!

Day 2

We crossed into Canada with no trouble! We are at Campark in Niagra Falls Canada. It is a nice resort with an abundance of entertainment for kids.
We drove around town to get a feel for the area.
We purchased a two day pass that is unlimited bus rides, Horn Blower boat ride into the falls, Fury, and White Water Walk.

Famous

Carole was photographed with the famous and historic Sock Monkey!!

Day Three

July 4, 2016
We found a gem! The Belvidere,IL cemetery is the home to one of the two chapels designed by Frank Lloyd Wright! We found Pettit Chapel and it is not marked in any way. This building is in the National Registor of Historic Places but there is not a placket.
We left here, had lunch at Poison Ivy and got the boat ready to view the fireworks on Rock River! Great fireworks display!

Day Two in The Windy City

We took the train round trip for $8.00 per person. We had lunch on Navy Pier, walked the Miagnificant Mile, saw the water tower that survived the Chicago Fire, rode a bus ($2.25), entered Trump Tower, and ate Garretts popcorn!

Whirlwind visit with Carole n Jerry

We had an action packed July 4th weekend with Carole and Jerry! Day one The boys visited Minhas Brewery in Monroe, WI while the ladies visited the historic Frank Lloyd Wright Laurent house.
I had no idea this house was by where I grew up! This is the only house Wright designed for a disabled person.

Moving

My sweet Natalie moved out! We did some fun remodeling of furniture for her new place and she got a haircut!

Relatives

It is hard getting older because you become less mobile. I try to help my parents by taking them to see family.

New Motorhome

We loved our 2004 Monaco Windsor Motorhome but it was getting old and had a few problems. We had to decide to either give the Monaco a good fixing or get a different motorhome. We had decided the rehab would be best until we saw the Entegra Asprie.

eBay

I have many old cameras that I have not used in years. Years ago, in IN, I had a thriving photography business but now I just use my iPhone. I decided to try listing one camera on eBay and like most people I overvalued my prized camera. Was I shocked when it sold for full price in two days!

There was a bit of drama after I shipped the camera. I was notified that the buyer didn't receive the camera. I used FedEx for packing and shipping and when I informed them that the buyer said the package had not arrived they jumped into action. The package was signed for and their driver tracked down the package! Delivered as stated just a mixup on purchasers part. FedEx was great!

Hands

This has been a bad summer for our hands!
I was trimming hedges and somehow trimmed my hand! It was bad but I am recovering.

Duf has Dupuytrens Disease and had surgery a week ago. It looks bad but Dr Bear assures him in two weeks he will be fine!
