Super Bowl Sunday meant food trucks and free Beer before the game. We did not eat from the food trucks but we did walk up and Duf had a beer. Everyone was gearing up for the game and they had large TV's for watching around the pool. We came home to watch.
The night before Valentines Day was a delicious food truck dinner and then Casino night around the pool. It was a fun time and we finally met some people. Nice to just talk to someone! The two ladies I met had lots to tell me about everything!
In the last two years, with the pandemic and all, we did not go out to eat until we arrived in FL. FL is basically open for business and we have been out a few times. One positive is that we are always able to eat outside with an gulf breeze to blow away any germs!
What is a day without Strawberries, short cake, and Ice Cream in Parksdale!! It all began in 1924 when an Irish emigrant decided to become a FL vegetable farmer. Around 1969 the market opened and it has continued to grow. This tiny, outdoor, no frills market has been visited by numerous Presidents and celebrities and when you visit you will understand the attraction!
Today was filled with a trip to Ybor City and a trolly ride around Tampa. There were not many people around and we wore our masks and used sanitizer! We started our tour at the Columbian Restaurant and it was all different; tables were apart and the bar was closed. We had a drink and shared a Cuban sandwich ending with delicious birthday Flam!
Tampa Bay Brewing was our target for lunch and our mouths were watering or the meatloaf. We were so unhappy as we consumed it because the presentation and taste were not what we had had the last two years. It definitely fell from our number one meal!
The Free trolly station is in front of Tampa Bay Brewing and runs downtown Tampa and back with trolleys stopping about every 15 minutes. We figured this was really busy on Super Bowl weekend but we were alone today!
We took the kids to Venice today to hunt for Sharks teeth. We did not think we would find any but we were wrong! The Dollar Store on the way had two colanders that we purchased to scoop shells so we could look for the teeth. This method worked great and we also found some washed up on the beach.
The beach has a bathroom but no place to eat so we were glad we packed a picnic lunch!
