I attempted to squeeze some mayo onto cheese curds but instead the bottle exploded and the mayo flew directly into cousin Bev's face! It was hysterical to everyone, even Bev!!

May 28, Decoration Day
Today we took my parents to Monroe, WI to decorate graves of family members. We met with my aunts, uncles and cousins. After cleaning and decorating headstones we headed to Swiss House for lunch and so much laughing.

We drove the craziest road in Duff, TN to the Mount Cloud restaurant at over 5000 feet elevation. The view was amazing!
The Cumberland Gap is a narrow pass through the long ridge of the Cumberland Mountains, within the Appalachian Mountains, near the junction of the U.S. states of Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee. We have now hit 4 Corners and 3 Corners!
This area is famous as a key passageway through the lower central Appalachians, it was an important part of the Wilderness Road and is now part of the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park where we walked out onto the Penicle outlook for an amazing view.

Yesterday we drove into IN for the night and today we arrived in Oak Ridge, TN to visit Carole and Jerry. It is so great to see them!
We toured Oak Ridge, had dinner at Aubries, a local favorite, and chatted into the night.
Mother's Day
Natalie came over for breakfast and we talked for a couple of hours. When she left we decided to head for TN.
I spoke with my mother but she was busy with my brother so I will see her when we get home. Her gift is a trip to visit with her sisters!
Duffey called his mother. She is 96 and lives in Phoenix.

One Handed
They say don't judge people until you have walked in their shoes. I have walked in the shoes of many different situations and I am now walking in the shoes of one useable hand. My left hand is still way to tender to use so I have had quite a time doing many things. Try to clean your glasses with one hand, put in earrings, blow your nose, open a bottle, tie your shoes tight, put deodorant on, and the list continues! Not fun, but these items and more get done because my husband is here to help me. Don't know how I would survive without his help!
He also gets to do the job of bandage change. This hurts and I have been known to be a bit vocal about it, but he just continues on with the gory task! The fingers are beginning to heal and his diligent work with my bandages has kept infection away. Dr Bear, the hand specialist, says I will heal without surgery, which shocked even him, if I do not get an infection.
