One Handed

They say don't judge people until you have walked in their shoes. I have walked in the shoes of many different situations and I am now walking in the shoes of one useable hand. My left hand is still way to tender to use so I have had quite a time doing many things. Try to clean your glasses with one hand, put in earrings, blow your nose, open a bottle, tie your shoes tight, put deodorant on, and the list continues! Not fun, but these items and more get done because my husband is here to help me. Don't know how I would survive without his help!

He also gets to do the job of bandage change. This hurts and I have been known to be a bit vocal about it, but he just continues on with the gory task! The fingers are beginning to heal and his diligent work with my bandages has kept infection away. Dr Bear, the hand specialist, says I will heal without surgery, which shocked even him, if I do not get an infection.
