Today we once again explored Moultrie by driving through the country surrounding this area. The country lanes were lined with Magnolia trees boarding acres of Cotton Fields. The pecan trees are still void of leaves but the season is fast approaching.
Moultrie is a quaint town with a square lined with antique stores and two restaurants. We walked around the shops and then found a small restaurant, The Square, featuring dad the chef, mom the bartender and their five children as wait and bus staff. The entire family had beautiful red hair! The food was all made from scratch and delicious. I ordered the delicious boiled peanut humans to bring home. Duf felt the Bayou Gumbo was equal to what he had in New Orleans. I had homemade spaghetti with homemade meatballs and sauce. mmmmm good!
Moultrie is also the home to the Moose Moss Aquatic Center with a high dive pool called a diving well! Olympic quality diving facilities and divers.
