Where does Ripley’s Believe it or not state is the home to the longest Main Street in the world without a through street?

Our first stop will be Potosi, WI where we will stay at a Harvest Host member brewery. Potosi Brewery has a blacktop area with ample room for both of our RV’s. Next to our RV’s flows a babbling brook that soothes us to sleep at night. Across from the brewery is a wine tasting room and gift shop. We did not get to tour the brewery plant because they are in production during the week with tours on the weekends.
Potosi Brewing Company is located on the Great River Road, and this will be our home for a few days.
Ripley’s Believe it or Not states Potosi is the home to the longest Main Street in the world without a through street!
Potosi is home to 31 Effigy Mounds. An Effigy mound is animal shaped!
Potosi is located in a valley and is like stepping back in time because the area does not support wireless internet service or cell phone service. That was the one large frustration about using Potosi as our home base!
We visited the ABA’s National Brewery Museum that featured old equipment and videos of very old beer commercials. Some of the commercials brought back memories. We all commented that ad makers of today should come and look at these ads so their new ones might be more interesting.
We saw card tables that had cubbies under the table top to set drinks so if they spill they will not ruin the cards. We observed beer cans the shape of oil cans that had instructions on the side on how to open using another oil can shaped beer can. At one time there was Holiday brand beer. Some felt this was a play on words making beer seem cheery and bright!
One curious item we discovered is that each restroom has a needle disposal dispenser on the counter. None of us had ever seen that before!
