Sept 25
The Speed Museum opened at noon and our tour was at one with Ray. Ray was over 85 and knew everything you could want to know about the cars in the museum. Ray had even designed two of the cars. There were two huge rooms of antique pedal cars, airplanes, and other kids toys from the 1940-50. This was just an amazing collection. On one stairway there was a collection of lunch boxes and one room was full of albums that had a car theme with signed guitars on the ceiling. Our tour lasted until 4:30.
After the tour we headed to the downtown area for dinner. The downtown area of Lincoln is being revitalized and has many restaurant choices. We selected Lazlos Brewery and the food was fantastic. I had Lahvosh, much like meatless pizza, and it was delicious. Carole had cheesecake for dessert and I had a hot cherry crisp with ice cream on top! The fellas sampled a couple of their local beers.
