We left the Iowa State Fairgrounds for Ashland, NE on a journey to The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum. It was an interesting hilly drive to our destination.
This museum is huge hangars packed with monstrous airplanes accompanied by their history in the defense of the USA. It is hard to describe but I would recommend anyone with an interest in history and/or airplanes visiting this museum.
The museum closed at 5 and when Jerry asked Lefty if we could park in their huge lot for the night Lefty interrupted with an astounding “NO”.
Our next stop was the Museum of Speed only 35 miles away and they are a Harvest Host member. Jerry called and they assured us they had plenty of room for us to park and we were off on another adventure.Their parking lot in the rear of the building is huge and we were able to park over a grassy area and open our slides. Having the slides open just makes everything so much larger! Their hours are from 12-5 so we will tour this museum tomorrow.
Clyde, of Bonnie & Clyde fame, wrote Ford a letter about how he loved driving a Ford!
Collectors collect anything!
After we parked and had dinner Carole and Jerry came over to watch The Big BangTheory season premiere and have a bit of ice cream!
