When we can arrive in Roswell to continue our 'eating our way through NM'! For our lunch/dinner we selected Big D's Downtown Dive and the food was Devine.

I had a turkey burger and it was delicious, Duffey had a yummy breakfast burger with green chili with garlic fries, Carole had a huge salad and Jerry had cheesesteak with fries. We were all stuffed when we left Big D's!

At dusk we drove to Bitter Lake, outside of Roswell,  to view the sandhill cranes migration. Tens of thousands of  these four-foot-tall primeval creatures  alight in boggy meadows locals refer to as lakes. The cranes shout at each other in territorial disputes and bob in nuptial dances as they settle into a nighttime equilibrium. It's all part of the life of the sandhill cranes.

The sky was full of the cranes coming in for the night.
