Pontchartrain Landing in New Orleans is our destination and where we will stay for the next three days. The trip here was a bumpy ride along LA highways 10 and 90. The highways are cement and every 10 yards there was a bump, our cupboards flew open we went over such rough roads. Beside the roads sugar cane was growing in field after field, much like IL grows corn.

The Morgan City Bridge was a high bridge held up with cables.

The road leading to the Landing is quite a trip past deserted buildings and yacht builders but the Landings is a very nice place.
After settling in we took a rode around the upper and lower ninth ward to see the homes that Brad Pitt helped build. There were some quaint neighborhoods and some that did not seem to have worked and are still not completed and many are deserted homes.

Lake Pontchartrain is huge, we were shocked by its size. There were many people fishing on the shores and a few boats out in the lake fishing. This entire area is surrounded by flood walls and gates. It was interesting to see and we noticed that the RV park is on the wrong side of the walls!
