The train station in Fort Worth is a restored building and still has a beautiful ceiling.
The train from Ft. Worth to Dallas costs $2.50 to ride all day!

We took the Texas Line into Dallas to visit the President George Bush museum and were glad we did. He really had to deal with some hard issues during his term as President. In one area we were given situations and had to react to them in a short period of time just as if we were the President. Of course it was easy for us because all the events have happened and we know the outcomes. Very interesting.

 911 Memorial.

Our next stop was the grassy knoll that ended President Kennedy’s life. The road is marked with an‘X’ on each of the areas it is believed the two shots hit the President.  There is an interesting memorial area BUT it is hard to get to read because of all the ‘travelers’ that are there and want to tell you the story and then charge you. We were amazed at how brazen they were when we gave them money and they did not think it was enough.

This is the grassy knoll where it is thought killers ran after the shots.
This is the Triple Underpass the motorcade rushed through on the way to the hospital.
The box in the third window down represents where the shooter is thought to have been in the Book Depository.
This 'X' is where it is thought President Kennedy's car was when the second bullet struck.
The purple 'X' is where the first bullet struck the President while his car drove down the road.

We walked on the West End to find a place to eat but settled for drinks and a snack at Gators when we could not find anything that appealed to all our tastes. Gators was a bit of a gothic type of bar, quite interesting styles on the patrons.

After Gators we were turned around and not sure how to find the train. It was getting dark and the streets seemed to be getting a bit wild so Mark asked a bus driver for directions and the driver thought it best if we boarded and he took us near Union Station. Even with his help we about got lost again, but we found the train and had a pleasant ride back to Fort Worth.

Once in Fort Worth we stopped for dinner at Pappas Burgers. Jerry had a huge piece of chocolate cake, Carole had a huge piece of cheese cake, I had a huge cookie with ice cream, while Duffey, Mark and Bettye had real food!
